Pew Research has released a new report authored by Jim Jansen entitled Online Product Research. The report investigates adult American online shopping habits and concludes that since the mid-2000s, American adults have become more reliant on the Web for research purchase decisions for both services and products.

Mary Madden of the Pew Internet and American Life Project published a report on Aug 27, 2010 entitled "Older Adults and Social Media." The findings suggest that in the last year older Americans have enthusiastically adopted social networking tools such as Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn. Key data points include:

  • Among users ages 50 to 64, social networking use grew 88% (from 25% to 47%) between April 2009 and May 2010.
